CRUSHED IT!!!
That's right. It's Saturday. Last night was weird- went to see Up In The Air, which I loved!!- then I came home, did some reading, went to bed. Was up at 5am for NO REASON. Could NOT fall back asleep. I knew that because I went to bed at 11pm, that was not enough sleep. I think I finally fell back asleep around 6am and slept in until GULP 9AM!!! That's crazy for me! Well, then again, I am crazy right? ;-)
So, I could have made any kind of lame excuse to not workout today but I did it. Today I did Val Waters' Action Hero Babe (Sculpt) Circuit. Some of you might recall I first bought Val's "Red Carpet Ready" Workouts and really liked them. What I like much better about the new Action Hero Babe workouts are the accompanying DVD- so you can workout along with Val. Some of you might say, "ok, I can do the exercises on my own.." --What I will tell you is having done them WITHOUT Val's video and now WITH the video- I was doing the circuits WAY TOO SLOW. I was trying to do almost more like a gym style workout where you take your time through each set. That is NOT the goal with these circuits. She moves much faster and I tell you- it keeps your heart rate UP there. And she incorporates ABS/CORE into each set. I really like it, and I know Val, in a long distance friend kinda way, she's a very down to earth, motivating REAL trainer. **Also note, those of you that are into competition- this would be more of a cardio type workout for your purposes, or something to mix it up. This is NOT heavy isolation training.** MY personal training focus this year is MIXING IT UP. Yes, I certainly add in some of my own isolation heavy training all throughout the week when I want to. But for me personally, I will never go back to 1 hour of TREADMILL and 1 hour of only isolation weight training. Too boring. For ME. Nothing wrong with it, I just like doing all these different workouts: Kickboxing, the new Cathe Cardio DVDs, Val Waters, Insanity, P90X, Taebo, some Lotte Berk, some yoga, you see my point.
Now I'm off to have a healthy lunch that I ENJOY. If you have questions about any of the workouts I am reviewing, let me know! I'm PSYCHED!!

So, HOW HAS YOUR 2010 STARTED OFF? You aren't waiting until Monday to start are you? What are your plans for today and tomorrow?
