Feeling Fine.

Hey Kids!! How is your weekend? I'm having a good one. They always go by too fast don't they? Especially after a holiday weekend, which is the only time it really FEELS like a weekend.

Anyway, I went for a run this morning. Like a silly girl, I went a bit too late again, but I had stuff going on this morning, so I couldn't break away until like 11am. It was already 84 degrees out but didn't feel that hot. I'm guessing I really should work hard on running early morning especially in the summer, to beat that high noon heat. DUH!

Anyway, I went to a new track, this is an actual track at a middle school near my house. Can someone tell me what a track usually is? It is 1/4 of a mile? 1/5 of a mile? Perhaps I shouldn't be so obsessed with that but I'm trying to measure by miles.....or perhaps I should just go for TIME at this point, how long I can run without stopping, keeping a good pace? Do you agree?

Also, I do feel fine, actually good, running without eating first. But I do find that after my run, I feel like I "need" nourishment. Y'all know I was totally NOT feeling like I had to follow the pre-workout and post-workout shakes that are so typical with competition prep. But with running I almost feel like in a way I need to eat or drink something right after a workout. Can you all give me some input here? I'm not looking for "rules" but overall suggestions. GRACIAS.

So today, on this track, I did one lap walking (this track seems much much bigger than the parking lot lap.) then 4 laps running. No cramping. The second time I did one lap walking, I got cramps after 2 laps. I stopped, then I did a lap where I ran 20 seconds, walked 20 seconds, the whole way around. I did some walking lunges, about 3 sets of 25, some Jenny-Lynn style sprints and side sprints thingies. I did high-knee running in place and then ran around the track again. I was starting to really feel some discomfort in my right hip flexor area so then I decided it was time to not push the running. I stretched and came home, did some misc "stuff" and worked my triceps and chest. Overall calorie burn of 900 Calories! WOOT!

I mention in my vlog below that of all the body parts I loathe working on, chest and triceps are it for me.

Question of the Day: What is your favorite body part to train and what is the one or two that you hate?
