Monday Manjoyment!

Do I really need to type anything? Seriously?

What's up? Happy Monday peeps! Here it is 9pm and I am blogging- what is UP with that? Unacceptable. I'm telling you people, my #1 goal is getting more normalcy and SPACE to my days.....so I'm not in this perpetual state of being a gerbil running on one of those wheel things. OY.

Honest to God. Scarlett? Really? This man could throw up every morning all over my shoes and I'd still go out with him. (I'd probably just store my shoes elsewhere, but I digress....what could Ryan Reynolds do that would make you break up with him? REALLY?)

I love how Jessica Biel says in that video, "I've found it's all about the diet and the workouts...." - um, I hear you, but WHAT ELSE COULD IT POSSIBLY BE ABOUT? I'm lost. Perhaps I need some Starbucks. ;-)

I also need a little pool out back so Ryan and I could play Scuba games together. While we discuss working out and diet plans.

Monday Manjoyment!

Ok! Shoot me (no pun intended, based on our photo above).....it's late on Monday and I have no time to ponder a new Monday Manjoyment candidate. I was going to do Adam Rodriguez (yea...) but there are no photos of him that showcase his ATHLETICISM. Come on- if y'all notice, I keep to the fitness theme by only featuring hotties that clearly workout. Nominate away.

I did the Kettlebell Bombshell DVD today---and I will tell you this, I was very pleased after a bit of a false start- full video review to follow tomorrow....but in about 50-55 minutes I burned 375 calories, and I'd say this would be on the low end, realistically I'd say I could do closer to 500 calories in that time in the future by moving faster and with less breaks for the learning curve.

Here is a video I found on YouTube of Lisa training a gal before her figure competition.....btw Lisa (the instructor in this DVD) used to compete as well. You'll see some of the moves on the DVD here in this video:

That Woodchopper one is where I realized I needed to wear gloves- my hands were too sweaty to hold the bell! Dang! And, as Charlotte talks about in her book (which I "review" a bit in the vlog below) The Great Fitness Experiment, I am DEFINITELY gonna need to buy some wrist bands. Too bad they don't make shoulder "bands" to protect your delts cuz no doubt I'll be bruised there too. Fine...no problem by me, I like the experience. For sure. A lot of you have written to me about Charlotte's book and I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it. In fact, I reached out to her and asked if she'd speak at our first FitFluential event in Chicago later this summer. She said she would love to! BOOYA!

Anyway, this book addresses a new workout each month and how she felt about it, likes and dislikes. Excellent. Her blog is HERE. Excellent blog. I'm pretty much a big fan of our girl Charlotte, in a big way ok? 

Oh Heavens to Betsy. I have unclean thoughts. 

So-- I have to run. It's late. I'm feeling SO GOOD that I did my workout = even when I didn't "feel like it" and I kicked some butt. I'm still addicted to fish tacos OMG!!! And I'm looking forward to trying a ton of new recipes and salad ideas this month.....I'm all about variety my friends. I'm all about it.

Yummy. I can't lie. I even like Ryan Reynolds with a beard. I would so NOT try to shave it. Unless he asked me to and it had something to do with a role-playing game like Sexy Hair Salon Moments. Did I just say that out loud? I'm sorry. TMI.

Monday Manjoyment!

Ohhh Ryan. What did your Master Aunt Kelly tell you?? You Can't Come Out To Play Until Night Time!!

WHAT?? WHERE AM I?? Was I sleeping?? I'm sorry. 

*Ahem*

Welcome to the Ryan Reynolds Blog, I mean, Monday Manjoyment. This blog post brings out the best in me really. There isn't anything wrong or questionable about wanting a grown man as a pet is there? Don't Judge Me. 

How was your weekend? I FINALLY got some down time. And by down time, I mean, no stressed-out-freaking-out-worried-about-family-and-running-back-and-forth-to-hospitals-and-doctors-offices-and-who-knows-where-else-time. I just saw my niece this evening and it was so JOYFUL to look in her eyes and not see sickness. I cannot tell you how horrible it was last week to see her eyes~ I can't describe it. Amen, thank you God, she is better! 

I am SO PROUD OF AMY!! OMG!! I think she said she OWNED THE 1/2 MARATHON AT LIKE 2:20!!! What the world!! I KNEW IT. She is SUCH a showoff biotch. (MUAH MUAH MUAH AMYKINS YOU KNOW I'M JUST JEALOUS AND BITTER) I haven't seen Amy yet since she's gotten home but I hope to kidnap her soon. We are also going to be working out with Matt Damon- hopefully later this week and then....in the very near future y'all are gonna see some stuff from my new friend-that-doesn't-even-realize-he-is-my-forever-BFF cuz he is opening a CROSS FIT GYM up here!! I think I mentioned it- Jay, my former trainer (who moved to FL without asking me) recommended this guy Pete to train me. Well it turns out I text Pete ON HIS LAST DAY AT LIFETIME FITNESS cuz he's opening up this gym!! BOOYA!

Oh Look At That. Um, Ryan Reynolds, Check. Facial Hair, Check. Killer Delts, Check. Guns, Check. Angry expression, Check. YUP that about does it for me. Add some Nickelback music in the background and some explosions and I might just curl up and meow like a cat. WHAT?

Anyway, I am picking my next first 1/2 Marathon this week and then I will train for it and I have no doubt I'll probably run it in like 30 minutes. Totally. 

And then Ryan Reynolds and I will run off into a field of daisies and get rowdy. #ItCouldHappen

December is GOOD so far and this week is going to ROCK workout-wise. For a moment, I took a peek at the 15 degree temps and thought I'd switch to evening workouts but I AM NOT A WUSS so I am back up at 5am tomorrow morning. WATCH ME. 

I'll be checking in on foursquare with a BOO-YA for all y'all. (don't any of you live in the South? That's how we roll down there, not that I live there anymore but I did, and when I did, you say "all y'all" and "fixin to" and stuff.)

Seriously? How can you not want to go to the gym after watching that? I honestly don't GET people that don't "like" working out. I'd be there 3 hours a day if I had time. For Realz. Also that dark-haired hottie in this video says "protein" funny. 

I need to pray and ask for forgiveness of my unclean thoughts. All I want for Christmas is really, well, I can't say that out loud. But the other part of what I want, is all in my hands! ABS. MY ABS. LOOKING BUFF. 

Kids. It is beginning to happen. The weight is coming off. My "diet" is the best it has ever been and it is natural- I don't feel like I'm forcing myself to do or eat or follow anything. I'm doing what I know is best, and I WANT to eat this way. And I'm more psyched for my workouts and training than EVER before. I made a kick butt start in 2010 - to get back on track, and to being consistent. Now 2011 is the year to OWN IT. And it's been a while - it's taken me a while to say this BUT I HAVE NO DOUBTS ANYMORE. NO DOUBTS AT ALL. 

And guess what else?? MY SISTER IS A BLOGGER NOW!! WOOT!! That's right! Watch out- cuz she is just getting started- give her some bloggy love by CLICKING HERE! (and we just literally set her up last night, so the blog is not at all complete, but I want her to see some fab fitness fiends she can start reading and learning from as well!)

Monday Manjoyment!

Look what I found in my basement. Naughty. Who's in his third time-out this morning??? 

*Ahem*

Welcome kids!! How is your week going so far?? Mine is....well, it doesn't feel like Monday that's for dang sure. Why is that? Hmmm maybe because I had no weekend. I was at a conference in San Francisco that wrapped up Friday evening. Flying from San Fran to Chicago took pretty much all day Saturday, bringing me home around 10pm. So I had like a one day weekend. I'm OVER that.

Anyway. I'm about to head out on my run- that's right, it's late in the day but I've been buried, so I'm hitting my run- TRAINING FOR MY FIRST 1/2 MARATHON IN 11 WEEKS!! WOOT!! - tonight. I also re-joined my local gym so I'm psyched about incorporating some hard core gym time in addition to my home gym time with REV ABS and Tony Horton One on One's!! WHATTTTT?? YUMMY!!! I'll share my reviews later! 

OH what Kelly did you say TURBO FIRE TOO?? Heck to the yes!! ;-)

Did I Mention that I am SO LOSING WEIGHT?? Whoa! So excited!! I started to work on a spreadsheet that lists all of the home DVD workouts I have and what their focus is. I'm going to use this to map out weekly workouts from this week forward. NO more winging it. Furthermore, I just read this book on my Kindle- BODY WEIGHT EXERCISES ONLY!!! You Are Your Own Gym: The Bible of Bodyweight Exercises for Men and Women. 

A GREAT READ. I'll have that on my Kindle to incorporate into hotel room workouts when they have a sucktastic gym. (like the one I experienced this week)

I will not fib here. I have unclean thoughts right now. Deep cleansing breaths Kelly. Deep thoughts. 

Ok- so, I hope you kids have a fabulous rest of the day. Get out there and get your workout going if you haven't already. NO EXCUSES!! 

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do you train (weights) isolation style only or mix it up? 

Also, I thought y'all might like this clip- both for some more manoliciousness flava but also for weights/training.
