DOMS. DOM, DOM DOM....DOMS!!!!

What's UP today kids? How is your weekend? Mine....has been GREAT and as the title of today's blog suggests, it is now full of DOMS and......BLISTERS!! Yayaya!! (I'm sick, I'm really sick that I'm actually proud of this.)
I realized that this is my first FULL WEEKEND AT HOME, (in town, not out of town for a conference) with no time-sensitive major project to finish (i.e. my book, followed by painting my kitchen table and 8 chairs plus armoir). I almost went nutty with glee. Friday night I went to see a movie with my girlfriends- we saw that Jamie Lee Curtis/Sigourney Weaver movie. It was cute. Nothing "OMG GOOD" but cute.
Saturday, dearest Amy dragged me kindly suggested that I join her for a workout slaughter serious outdoor boot-camp taught by a tough cookie that looks like Matt Damon's younger brother. OMG. First of all, please note that as I've mentioned here, the past 6 weeks or so I have been REALLY BAD about getting my weight training in. Running has just wowed me and I've been focusing so much on that and getting better and better, that I've neglected planning out full and balanced weight workouts as well. I've missed it and oh WOW hitting this boot-camp after 6 weeks of random weight training was...um, well, it was interesting. He alternated running with all kinds of moves for lower and upper body. After the first set of lower body drills, after I started to walk, I FELT my muscles going "SWEET MOTHER OF GOD!!!!". I knew right then what today would feel like. And I was right.
On another note, it was all good. And I want some more. I feel the need to be able to spar with....

Wouldn't THAT be fun? Please let me be alone with my thoughts right now.
I may just watch the Bourne Trilogy today. Yummy. I won't lie. I like men that can beat a lot of OTHER men up. It just WORKS for me. Don't judge.
Today, I was ready for a full day of rest. Then Amy told me on Facebook it would be a good idea for me to walk today so my DOMS would ease out. I went for a full hour power walk. Mistake; NOT wearing the right wicking socks. OUCH!!!! You should see the blisters on my heels- they are bigger than Texas! But I will not pop them no matter how much I'm dying to. (I have issues wanting to peel skin. I'm weird like that. I actually LIKE to do it. Shoot me.) Still, glad I did it. And now I can feel good about cuddling up in my robe and my Uggs, a nice cappuccino and some Bourne DVDs. Bliss.
Remember, we've talked about working out NO MATTER WHERE you are, NO MATTER WHAT your schedule looks like?? I'm gonna show you each day, EACH WEEK that there are NO EXCUSES.
Blisters? SO WHAT? DOMS? You EARNED THAT! Busy schedule?? Go to bed earlier and wake up earlier. NO GYM? Bodyweight. Run. Walk, Sprint. NO EXCUSES. PLAN PLAN PLAN.
