What You Feed Will Grow. 

You may be wondering about the title of this blog post, accompanied by a post of chiseled abs. Of course, if you feed your body, it will GROW. If you feed it junk and don't workout it will grow FAT. If you feed it great healthy food with protein and vegetables, plus workout HARD, you will "grow" muscles. However, I'm talking more figuratively today than realistically. 

This is about your attitude and your habits. 

One way or another, whatever you "feed" will grow. If you stop working out, your body and your mind get used it. They adjust to no activity. They forget what it feels like. They get comfortable without activity and automatically wince when you start to even THINK about reintroducing it. If you stop eating healthy, and start drinking and partying all the time, followed by eating bad food, that becomes habitual. The more junk you eat, the more you want. The more you party and stay out late and get hungover, the more you feel that you "need" that greasy cheeseburger and fries. 

Whatever you start to do...and continue to do....that habit grows. It makes itself at HOME in your body and your mind.

Your attitude is the same. If you start getting up every day, upset about your job, your relationship, your body, and then you spend all your time whining about it and focusing on how bad it is...the situation will only grow worse. You are putting all your energy TOWARD THE BAD STUFF. (Amy, do you feel me channeling you?) It becomes much easier to keep feeling down, depressed and bad about the situation, rather than to snap out of it and focus on creating a solution that you can get excited about!!

Alternatively, if you start a new habit, like running or working out, and you stick to it, just for two days, that third day it becomes much easier to wake up at 5am. (Trust me, I did this, I have no problem waking up at 5am anymore.) When you start training regularly, without fail, EVERY DAY (yes, giving yourself the needed rest/recovery days), it becomes much easier to squeeze in a workout, even later in the evening, because...that's just WHAT YOU DO.

When you start eating really good food, and branch out, trying new fish or salads...and you begin to enjoy new healthy food that is fueling your body, it becomes easier every day to say no to the crappy stuff. It really does. Kids.....I cannot say it enough. Eating now for me is NOT a problem.. 

Amy has made such a huge impact on my LIFE with attitude and goal setting and planning. She's a detail person where I am not, but she's helped me incorporate what I need to do TO GROW WHAT I WANT TO GROW. 

I HAVE NO DOUBT, NO DOUBT AT ALL, WHATSOEVER that I will be showing off this sexy six-pack as Chelle would say, very soon. And this sexy six-pack is ONLY gonna get better and better. 

I actually get EXCITED ABOUT TILAPIA. I drink WATER ALL DAY and not soda. I don't miss it. Seriously! I like feeling a bit of sore DOMS every day and knowing that I am going to Vegas for my first 1/2 marathon, and all I am thinking is, HOW AWESOME I'M GOING TO DO, HOW MUCH I KNOW I WILL SURPRISE MYSELF. 

So- if you are bummed, or "not motivated"- GET MOTIVATED. DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT AND THEN FIGURE OUT HOW TO ACHIEVE THAT. Then, focus on ONE DAY. Doing it for ONE DAY. After that day, I guarantee you the next day will rock. And then all of a sudden, it's a week. And you OWNED IT.

Keep it up. Watch how you wow yourself and GROW YOUR GOOD HABITS AND YOUR BODY WILL FOLLOW.
