CRUSHED IT.

Cardio: Check. LBWO: Check. First thing in the morning: CHECK. That qualifies for #CRUSHEDIT.
Here is the thing. They always say if you are doing both cardio and weights- you do weights first, so you have energy for lifting, and then cardio after that. Well, I did my weights first, then toward the last 15 minutes started sipping my recovery drink right? Guys, I am telling you, my tummy is a WUSSBAG. Because I just don't think I digest things quickly- even liquids. I go to do my kickboxing workout and the jumping part- I CRAMP UP. I told you I cannot have anything in my stomach to do high impact cardio or I cramp. So, even though it goes against the "rules", I'm going to do my cardio FIRST on days when I'm doing both weights and cardio. Who cares what the rules are?? I don't think God made our bodies that way. Do you think cavemen were walking around after chasing an elk for 2 miles, fretting because now they have to move a big heavy boulder and they "don't have the energy" because they did cardio already? #StopMakingSoManyRules #DoYourOwnThang
What was this morning's workout? I did Upper Body focus earlier, and I want to keep mixing it up, so rather than do Butts N Guts, which I LOVE for lower body, I went old school and did Cathe's Legs & Glutes and then Kick Punch & Crunch. 5 STARS PEOPLE. That Legs & Glutes will keep the heart rate up too; I was sweaty going into the cardio....
AND GUESS WHAT? Hot Diggetty Dog! I got into the cardio and starting cramping up. This was like 10 minutes in- and the bad mindset crept in. "Well, learn your lesson Kelly. Just chalk it up and NEXT TIME do your cardio on an empty stomach." Then Kick Butt Kelly chimed in (and yes, I do talk to myself like this, get over it) "Are you KIDDING ME? You are here. You are already hot and sweaty. You chiseled out this time to workout, now do WHAT YOU CAN for cardio here. Sweat it out girl, how you gonna show off abs this summer if you keep giving in and giving up when something works against you??"
So, I made up my own low-impact kick butt moves when Cathe was doing high impact~ and guess what, instead of stopping at 10 minutes, I did a full 50 minutes. CRUSHED IT CRUSHED IT CRUSHED IT!! ;-)
DON'T GIVE IN.
Here is a peek at Kick Punch and Crunch:
If you are interested, both of these workouts are on the same DVD. No I don't earn any $$ for telling you about Cathe DVDs. I simply share what I'm doing to A) track it and B) give you all some ideas.
VLOG to follow.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do you ever do cardio first before weights? Do you care? Do you think I'm sexayyy? (haha I just for some odd reason thought of that Rod Stewart song. Yes, I'm old.)
