Saturday. Updated.

Good Morning Kids. Today, I did that Lalo Fit 2: Freeze Technique (that's a link to Collage Video where you can buy it, and no I make no $$ from referring you there.). Wow. Seriously intense. I've said this about workout DVDs like Tracy Effinger's Squeeze Stronger; do NOT scoff at these circuit style workouts using very light weights. This is NOT the style of workouts from the early 80's when they told women to use little pink dumbbells so we wouldn't get "big and bulky". I don't think I have to go into that absurd argument here. Please don't underestimate how GREAT of a workout this kind of conditioning is- how much of a cardio/sweat factor there is and- how much your shoulders will be burning UP when you are doing squat holds with your arms overhead in a shoulder press HOLDING for 5 seconds each time, 20 reps. I started with 8lbs and rapidly dropped them for 5lbs. The ONLY time I thought I could have used a heavier weight was these biceps "circle" moves he does which I thought were a bit "odd".
Most of the time he isn't using weights. There is all kind of ab and plank work. Some plyo, some slower focused kickboxing moves. Just all over, and you keep going and going and going. I was REALLY SWEATING IT UP. I give this workout 5 stars. You won't be as out of breath, cardio-wise, as an Insanity, but I give it 5 stars because it is so different, you will get GREAT cardio, core, conditioning and "toning" for lack of a better word. You aren't doing heavy isolation muscle work, but my arms are TOAST. My legs were worked, but mostly without weight. I really like this style.
WEEKLY WRAP-UP. I'm going to start doing this on my blog. Looking at each week and summarizing it for my own accountability. This week I did 7 total workouts. I wanted 9. I'll do 9 next week. Aunt Flo was visiting and I had some chocolate days, 2 in fact. I'm not pleased with that. And yesterday's post shows where my mindset is now, I'm really going to work at this. Not psycho. But focused. And I'm happy that I'm doing it the right way.
Next week: Shoot for 9 workouts. Shoot for killer cardio. Shoot for more green tea, less diet soda. (no I am not trying to cut that OUT yet....no way.) Stick to eating only at meals. The snacking; even healthy snacking; too easy for me to not record it.
I'm out. You kids have a great day. ;-)
Updated: I just read in one of my magazines that an average 8-piece spicy tuna roll is 400 calories. That means, most of the times I've ordered, they have 6 pieces = 300 calories. Totally a "healthy" food. But - hello, I love sushi and never have just one roll. This is an area where I have to really look at each roll as a calorie count #. If you are in maintenance, you don't really have to think about it in this manner. But I'm sharing this with you to show you how easy we can impede our own progress without realizing it, without pigging out on pizza and cookies. When you are looking to LOSE WEIGHT, every single detail in your diet COUNTS.
