It's Time to GET REAL. 

Good Morning Kittens!!!

OMG. I feel a LITTLE ridiculous. I'm in Vegas as you know, and I was bummed about a few issues with my hotel. One of them being that they said "Free Wired High Speed Internet Access". Kelly Airhead Olexa didn't realize where the ethernet cord was until this morning. #BlondeMoment

YEAAAAAA I have normal high-speed internet access!! That means yeaaaaa I can vlog and upload it normally, because YEAAAA I still haven't asked anyone to tell me what compression software to use to make my vlog file sizes smaller so that when I'm on the road I can shoot them and upload them when I DON'T have a high speed connection. Wow. #RunOnSentence

Anyway, I had kind of a down day yesterday. Ok, A MAJOR NUCLEAR MELTDOWN. Why? Well, I got out here to Vegas and unpacked. I tried on this new dress I bought for one of the parties and....it didn't flatter me the way I wanted it to. It fit. But I thought I looked like I should be grazing in a field with a bell around my neck. I got REALLY upset and of course Aunt Flo was there egging me on, telling me to order some chocolate and wine and just drown in it.

Here's the long and short of it. I've lost weight. I'm kicking butt in my running. But quite simply, I haven't lost ENOUGH of the weight that I want to lose. I'm NOT where I want to be and it was VERY frustrating to have that bad dress moment in the mirror. 

I spent about 20 minutes countless hours pontificating on the "What am I doing wrong?" concept and feeling sorry for myself. God Bless Amy and Sherry for always being there for me when I get like this. Yes, Kids, Kelly Olexa your motivation Queen can get DOWN. Big time. 

But- I woke up this morning, and after yet another little fitness mishap (I ran yesterday at 6am thank you- 4 miles!! WOOT! Today is no-run day) where my new laptop didn't have the DVD decoder software installed (so I couldn't watch my Tony Horton Road Warrior Workout! Bollocks!!), the heavens parted and clarity arrived.

Deep thoughts.

Anyway, here is the deal. You all have seen my travel schedule. The past 90 days have been insane. I've been, in my mind, doing good. In my mind, I've been eating healthy, I've been getting my runs in, I've been not staying out late and partying when everyone else is. 

There comes a time when, if you are NOT getting the results you want- whether that is NO results or just LESS than ideal results, you have to GET REAL with yourself. You have to look at yourself objectively and see- are you, have you been REALLY REALLY REALLY 100%?? 

I had to GET REAL with myself this morning. A lot of effort means nothing if it isn't targeted and planned and the RIGHT effort. Make sense??  Just like running in place for 1 minute 10 different times a day is NOT the same as doing a killer 10 minute sprint. But sometimes we mentally think, "Oh well, I squeezed in this workout, and I've had a few meals here and there that weren't ideal, but I'm doing pretty good".

PRETTY GOOD DOESN'T GET YOU FLAT ABS. PRETTY GOOD DOESN'T GET YOU A SIZE SMALLER. PRETTY GOOD JUST MIGHT KEEP YOU FROM GAINING WEIGHT. PRETTY GOOD MIGHT KEEP YOUR HEART HEALTHY BUT YOUR BODY LOOKING JUST 'OK' AS OPPOSED TO "HOT DANG!".

I'm over "pretty good". And I have to be REAL. Yes, I've done my workouts on the road. No, they have not in any way been close to what I NEED to fit in every week. I told you how I've done more running and neglected my weight training. Yes, I eat pretty healthy on the road. But let's talk about sushi dinners with clients. Sushi is "healthy" right, but hello!!!! Sushi can also be fattening and calorie dense. Yea- I'M HAVING HOT GREEN TEA with my sushi. Big whoop- that doesn't matter if I had too much sushi. 

Meals where you don't absolutely KNOW the nutritional value are no good for those of us wanted ideal results. Period. Some of you can eat randomly and get results. I cannot. I'm over whining about it. I won't be a whiner. I will be a WINNER.

Wow. That sounds like a motivational speech right there. 

If you want the physique that 95% of the population doesn't have, you have to put in the work that 95% of the population doesn't. 

AMEN TO THAT.

I've gotten real with myself today. I realized where the holes are in my training and my eating and it will no longer be allowed in my house. Getting fit, being fit, and getting healthier every day- THAT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO ME than anything that else that has gotten in the way. Period. 

So, my QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do you think that YOU are at 100% effort across the board? What can YOU do starting NOW to change that so you are closer to 100% effort??
