Monday Manjoyment!

Good Evening Kittens!! ;-) 

I was in the mood for some Chris Evans today. And, as I've told you peeps- feel free to nominate your favorite man for Monday's Manjoyment. I have been trying to discover some newbies, but hey- who really cares if I feature Huge Jackman every Monday?? I wouldn't complain!

It's late. My Gosh, what am I doing blogging at 8pm on a Monday?? That's how today went, and now I am packing for my trip in the morning. OY!!! But guess what?? I mapped out my spreadsheet last night with all my workouts for this week- and then went so far as to write out each day- assuming worst case scenario- and when I need to wake up, workout, get ready, leave for the meetings, etc. 

I WILL accomplish what I set out to do. WATCH ME. 

I was telling Amy today (we had lunch) that it's really cool to see where she is right now, the strides she's made and how much she has changed her body in the past 6 months. She started running in April. I started running in July, so she is 3 months "ahead of me" and I'm telling you, it's pretty cool. When we ran our 5K (my first) together, I told her to go ahead, knowing that I'm not that fast YET but I will be. 

Amy so inspires me too with how comfortable she is in the fitness journey. She's done more for my fitness mindset (not to mention my whole LIFE thank you) than I can say. She just.....completes me. ;-)

Good Lord. That's enough Beaches movie madness for right now. 

BREAK ME OFF A PIECE OF THAT. 

WHAT?

Kids, I gotta tell you- I am literally a walking PILE OF PAIN right now!! haha Seriously, it is making me laugh, only I don't want to laugh because my core hurts so much. My core, my legs, and seriously my upper body are all still knee deep in DOMS from Saturday's Boot Camp with Matt Damon. And my left Achilles heel is screaming in huge blister pain. (Side note; today I picked up some Band-Aid blister bandages!! Who knew?? Just for blisters!! Amen!) And I got a new belly ring ~ haven't worn mine in a while and let's just say that my belly ring is creating some DISCOMFORT. The things we do for vanity. Don't Judge Me.

Monday Manjoyment!

What's UP peeps? ;-) Have you had a great weekend? I have! Aside from the fact that I've been dealing with like a perpetual headache that is leftover from being sick all week, it's been nice. The butt-kicking first two "runs" this weekend also have me on a big high. I'm digging it, and I am LOVING all of your advice and pointers. I have yet to run into (no pun intended) anyone that says they used to run and hated it. Interesting. There aren't many 'workouts' that I've tried and not liked, other than step aerobics, because I am hopelessly uncoordinated. I love kickboxing, and have loved it for over 15 years. I love plyo now and also Kettlebells. I view running almost as its own category. All I know is, it feels GREAT so far, I feel muscles working that I don't normally feel (which is awesome) and it feels like a massive accomplishment to conquer my "fears" of running and join the in crowd, the runners, the elite. That sounds almost like a commercial doesn't it?

Question: I need to update my iPod and specifically I want some kick butt RUNNING music. I love me some Nickelback, Trust Company, Rev Theory, Finger Eleven, Disturbed etc. but I also love stuff like Brooklyn Bounce below. Sherry gave me some great recommendations, now you give me YOURS!!! 

So, today, I am taking as an "off" day. I let myself sleep in because as I mentioned above, I have had splitting headaches almost the entire weekend (don't worry, it seems to be the gift that Aunt Flo brings every month, killer headaches that even Excedrin can't touch. Annoying as hell too.) and really needed rest. Got up, went tanning (guess what? I do planks in the tanning bed now!) and I have a massage in about an hour. Two hours of bliss and I'm overdue, it's been like 2 weeks!! This girl is NOT the same without my weekly massage. You may have noticed a bit more pent-up energy...hmmm maybe THAT is why I have headaches! I'm in massage withdrawal! 

So later today I'm going to be with the family for a cookout. My dad is making his "killer ribs" although I can't speak on that because I'm not really a BBQ person or a ribs person. Like fried chicken, I just have no desire to go there. I don't think it is gross or anything, just doesn't tempt me like a piece of pizza can. Now I will tell you this, I am going to have some deviled eggs. INDEED. My mom makes those bad boys sing. Seriously. 

Question: What is your favorite cookout food? I'm all about the side dishes: Corn on the Cob, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, etc. And I have never yet met a cheeseburger that I don't love.

Monday Manjoyment. 

Good Morning Kids!! How are you?? Good weekend? Honestly, I don't even feel like I had one, seriously. This can't be a repeater. Oy Vey. Didn't get home until 10pm Friday, then I kind of had a good day Saturday- massage and a movie, but yesterday I had a family event from 11-3pm for one of my nieces. Bit of a drive to go that way~ so I got home around 5pm. Today/tomorrow I am in Detroit- but NO WORRIES I'll be working out!! 

I will workout this evening in the hotel room and hopefully in the morning on Tuesday. Just in case there is an issue, because Tuesday is a packed day and then I come home Tuesday night- I did a nice little impromptu workout yesterday. Sunday is usually my total day OFF. I stay OFFLINE as much as possible, I don't blog/vlog, I go to church, relax and don't workout. But, yesterday I had time in the morning after church so I did some P90X Shoulders/Chest/Triceps. Have some noticeable DOMS this morning! WOOT! Burned about 350 calories, with no cardio thrown in. ;-)

So, if I don't get to squeeze my workout in on Tuesday, I will make up for it. This week is going to be SUPER KICK BUTT to "make up" for last week's 3-in-a-row-no-workout-bomb! ;-( Un-Smiley-Face-Be-GONE!

Now, we saw the movie The Losers on Saturday. Here is what I can tell you. FREAKING AWESOME. Check it out.

Monday Manjoyment.

Well. I needed that. It's like 9pm and I am just getting settled into my hotel because......#@)%&)%%& blasted Expedia lost my hotel reservation. I tell you, I loathe Expedia. I had to stand in the hotel lobby for 45 minutes waiting for all the details to get worked out. #FAIL.

Anyway, don't have much time to write, obviously. But, I did start the week off WELL with some killer cardio this morning. 525 calories burned! WOOT! And I am at my caloric threshold.....staying within my numbers!!

I have a slightly packed day tomorrow, but should be able to post a blog sometime. It is going to be hard to fit in my workout tomorrow. Day full of meetings and then a dinner/party thing at night. Oy.
