Momentum. Day 2.

I so love this picture. It also makes me realize how badly I want to get my shoulder situation diagnosed so I can fearlessly dive into my fitness moves. It's a bummer, such a bummer to be avoiding upper body work! OY!

Anyway-- I am really starting off this week right and starting off my 1KO21 Challenge WELL! I forgot to share what my workout was yesterday. I did some OLD SCHOOL Taebo from WAY back in the day. I LOVE me some Billy Blanks, even though his counts are often uneven. Then, I wanted to wrap up with some glute work so I thought I'd try the Butt Bible. Let me tell you something. I may have tried this DVD one time before- or maybe I previewed it, and I was not wowed. It didn't seem to be anything earth shattering at all-- like when you see something titled Butt Bible, you'd think it would be this AMAZING glute workout with moves or techniques you've never seen before. Um, we're talking plie squats, lying down side kicks, regular squats etc. Not much where -- like with Physique 57-- I was going HOLY COW WHO THOUGHT OF THIS AND HOLY COW MY GLUTES ARE ON FIRE??

My next thing is simply a personal observation. For those of you into figure competition and serious weight training, Pauline Nordine is like a TOTAL BADASS-- see below.

AND:

So...you can imagine my surprise to see Pauline looking like this on the cover of this DVD:

NOTE: I am NOT saying she looks bad here I'm just saying they clearly toned her DOWN a bit for the photo and personally I'm wondering why. Some of you might not aspire to that much of a hard core physique but let's respect it and respect the work and dedication that goes into it....and as you can see on the DVD she looks like a totally different person. DURING the workouts, she said so many cheesy things it was worse than the Brazil Butt Lift guy (And that is a killer workout!!!)

She said that "this won't give you a yoga butt! Yoga butts are FLAT!". Um.....?

Hello?

She also says, "I may be from Sweden but I'm not STUPID!!". Yea...pretty sure most Swedish peeps want to bitch slap you for that one Pauline. WHATEVER. Total drag. I don't see myself doing this workout again. Still, it was a good burn overall and I'm proud I did my workout in the morning! WOOO!

Here's my post-workout vlog from yesterday:

And yes, I am going to get X-rays on the shoulder hopefully tomorrow. But yesterday was a great start to my 21-day challenge of CONSISTENCY FIRST. Consistency. I don't care if this shoulder thing makes it so I can't do upper body weights for a month. I will workout 6x a week. Period.

I have to run. Have a Sears FitStudio chat tonight at 8pm CST - Join us on Twitter, follow #FitStudio to chat about working out on the road and keeping it going! ;-)

Question of the Day: When YOU travel or go on vacation, do you get your workouts in? How? If not, why not?

TGIF!!! Holy Cow!

I got ready to type this blog post and I'm like, what? That "Quick Update" post wasn't yesterday? There was a whole day in between? GOOD LORD!! I don't even recall yesterday- oh right, I guess I was en route via plan from DC to Chicago yesterday. Then I had to run errands yesterday evening one of them being buying a blasted new Camcorder Battery at Best Buy so I can VLOG~!! Here is the vlog I shot in my room-- stuck in Salt Lake City--on Monday. I went for a killer power walk with walking lunges and some sprints:

YOU KNOW I was tired when I shot that vlog with all that suitcase mess behind me!! LOL I would normally NEVER do that but that Monday morning I was so tired and bitchy, nothing was gonna get in my way. After that video, I had the pleasure of sitting in the hotel lobby for about 10 more hours. OY.

Anyway, TGIF peeps. Today- yes, you heard me whisper it before I even said it, today was swamped, then I had a lovely massage and then I had to come home and submit no less than 6 speaker submissions for a conference later this year. Now it is 9pm and I'm just parking my bootie on my couch. DANG!.

I am so ready to workout in my house and kick some butt. I feel like I've been gone WAY longer than 5-6 days.....golly. I did really good staying active in Park City. Then Tuesday -Thursday were activity-less, I'm sad to say and DOGGONE IT this is the kind of stuff that makes me so angry with myself--- I will admit that probably this week, after the 48 hours of airport delays and being in 3 cities in less than a week, I was RATHER EXHAUSTED, I was literally crying most of Tuesday out of sheer and utter exhaustion......but, still, I am upset when I look back and say, "Oh yea, two days of no workouts".

For the future, this continual travel is gonna stop. Period. A whole LOT is going to change in my future- very soon. Stay tuned.

What is going to change right now, is that ImmaGonnaStopTypinAndGoSittaDownNowOk?

Also- two new workout DVDS I get to try this weekend-- The Butt Bible by Pauline Nordin and Physique 57...yummy.

This is Pauline. For those of you that have been a fan for a while, she is hardcore MUSCLE. LOVE IT. But what surprised me was to see how on the cover of her DVD, it is soooo obvious that they "softened her up" to market her to a more general fitness audience. Do you agree -- check it out:

That girl does NOT remind me of THIS girl below:

Now, I am sure that many women would prefer to achieve a less conditioned physique, more like the Pauline on the cover of the DVD, but I'm just making an observation. I'm in marketing people, I know how they have to appeal to a bigger audience. If they put Pauline on the cover of a DVD in her glorious muscle beauty, less women would buy it. I admire her both ways, I simply think the difference in the physique is startling. All good though- check out the video demos on the page, the workouts look GREAT!!

Now these are our friends at Physique 57:

Apparently Ms. Ripped Kelly Ripa is a HUGE fan.

Here is a demo:

I cannot WAIT to try it. I had the Lotte Berk DVDs and the Burr Method DVDs but found myself not using them because they were like 15-20 minute workouts....this one is 57 minutes. (**Full Disclosure the kind folks at Physique 57 sent me this DVD to try out- they did not ask me to review it but I am doing so because I truly cannot wait!)

Also-- check this out- saw on Tumblr today, top healthy breakfast ideas....what are your ideas or favorites?? I'm really trying to branch out and try new combos and ideas!! Gonna DO IT!!

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Have you heard of either of these workouts? What are some new workouts you have tried or heard about and want to try?
