I Got Your Crazy.

I am FINALLY home. I am psyched, amped, motivated, excited and just plain GIDDY. Wow, I have so much to tell you all- very soon. I needed to come home and take a few hours of down time tonight- meaning, no WORK!!! Sometimes it might sound like it's fun and games when you hear I am in NYC or San Francisco or wherever, but trust me, conferences are EXHAUSTING. It is just NON-STOP.
I'm not complaining, but I always need some mental detox when I come home. And it kind of bites to get home on a Sunday evening. It feels like it should be Friday, and yet I have to work tomorrow! OY!!
Anyway, I wanted to put up a quick blog post tonight after thinking about BlogHer. Being at the event and meeting SOOOOO many amazing bloggers of all kinds (Mommy bloggers, fitness bloggers, financial bloggers, funny bloggers, food bloggers, wine bloggers, you name it), I was just blown away at the talent and dedication of these ladies. And of course, meeting some of my favorite fit chicks in person was AWESOME.
Then I began to realize how, on a personal level, this blogging experience has truly changed my life and continues to change my life. I've met and learned everything I know via the connections in blog-land. And there is this incredible "team spirit" feeling of support out there. It just wows me how we are all cheering each other on, offering tips and guidance. I mean, wow. If you are a "lurker" and aren't reaching out to bloggers that you read and commenting, you are MISSING OUT. If you aren't blogging about your passion, you are MISSING OUT. You are missing out personally and potentially professionally. Take it from me, I can tell you from "both sides"- personally, because blogging has changed my life and my career, and professionally (because I work for a social media agency and we work with bloggers on behalf of our clients), the brands that you love and are passionate about are interested in connecting with YOU. The opportunities are abundant and it thrills me to no end, because it's a Win-Win all around. The brands win that connect with us (the bloggers, and our readers) and we win by learning about new cool stuff that we would be interested in, but might not know about.
It was soooo incredible to be in NYC and then, to meet some of my favorite fit chicks that I already know and then meet brand new besties like Renee (who you will see on a future Wednesday WOOT! Factor) who went running with me and taught me SO much. I am just so happy and so grateful to be a part of this TEAM of amazing women.
Girl Power. Big Time.
What's with the title of today's post? I've been hearing several times lately, when I share my new goals, of running, of fat loss, of working out schedules, etc. a response similar to "You're crazy! Why don't you relax a bit?? You're too hard on yourself! You look FINE..."....you get the drift. When I hear that, it makes me want to WORK HARDER. I would much rather be a bit crazy, a bit over-the-top in Aiming High and being ON FIRE about what I'm doing, than to be some lethargic lumpy bumpy mushy whiny moany brat watching American Idol every night. #justsayin
