I Got Your Crazy.

I am FINALLY home. I am psyched, amped, motivated, excited and just plain GIDDY. Wow, I have so much to tell you all- very soon. I needed to come home and take a few hours of down time tonight- meaning, no WORK!!! Sometimes it might sound like it's fun and games when you hear I am in NYC or San Francisco or wherever, but trust me, conferences are EXHAUSTING. It is just NON-STOP.

I'm not complaining, but I always need some mental detox when I come home. And it kind of bites to get home on a Sunday evening. It feels like it should be Friday, and yet I have to work tomorrow! OY!!

Anyway, I wanted to put up a quick blog post tonight after thinking about BlogHer. Being at the event and meeting SOOOOO many amazing bloggers of all kinds (Mommy bloggers, fitness bloggers, financial bloggers, funny bloggers, food bloggers, wine bloggers, you name it), I was just blown away at the talent and dedication of these ladies. And of course, meeting some of my favorite fit chicks in person was AWESOME.

Then I began to realize how, on a personal level, this blogging experience has truly changed my life and continues to change my life. I've met and learned everything I know via the connections in blog-land. And there is this incredible "team spirit" feeling of support out there. It just wows me how we are all cheering each other on, offering tips and guidance. I mean, wow. If you are a "lurker" and aren't reaching out to bloggers that you read and commenting, you are MISSING OUT. If you aren't blogging about your passion, you are MISSING OUT. You are missing out personally and potentially professionally. Take it from me, I can tell you from "both sides"- personally, because blogging has changed my life and my career, and professionally (because I work for a social media agency and we work with bloggers on behalf of our clients), the brands that you love and are passionate about are interested in connecting with YOU. The opportunities are abundant and it thrills me to no end, because it's a Win-Win all around. The brands win that connect with us (the bloggers, and our readers) and we win by learning about new cool stuff that we would be interested in, but might not know about.

It was soooo incredible to be in NYC and then, to meet some of my favorite fit chicks that I already know and then meet brand new besties like Renee (who you will see on a future Wednesday WOOT! Factor) who went running with me and taught me SO much. I am just so happy and so grateful to be a part of this TEAM of amazing women.

Girl Power. Big Time.

What's with the title of today's post? I've been hearing several times lately, when I share my new goals, of running, of fat loss, of working out schedules, etc. a response similar to "You're crazy! Why don't you relax a bit?? You're too hard on yourself! You look FINE..."....you get the drift. When I hear that, it makes me want to WORK HARDER. I would much rather be a bit crazy, a bit over-the-top in Aiming High and being ON FIRE about what I'm doing, than to be some lethargic lumpy bumpy mushy whiny moany brat watching American Idol every night. #justsayin

Monday Manjoyment!

Oh Heavens. I suddenly want to play football

Welcome to Monday kids. How did you do so far? My workout this morning took a bit of a turn, which annoyed me but I adjusted accordingly instead of throwing in the towel. I went for my run EARLY this morning (see? I'm hitting my goal of getting up earlier and doing my workouts EARLIER!) and for some odd reason, about 20 minutes in, I got horrible horrible cramps - and the Aunt Flo kind not the dry running "stitch" kind. I almost felt nauseated it was that bad, so I made the decision to get home. Of course! Once I got home I felt ok and they didn't return. No idea WHY that happened but I decided to do my weights- I did P90X Back and Biceps for a 550 Calorie Burn. Not bad! Whoa, my biceps were SPENT. Totally ANNIHILATED

This is WEEK #2 in my Running Training and I'm doing a 3/3 split 5 times. So Run 3, Walk 3, 5 sets. Tomorrow I'm gonna make sure I get a real session in, as Wednesday morning I leave for NYC for BLOGHER! Who is gonna be there?? LMK!!! Would love to see ya!! And wow is it going to be a CHALLENGE to fit in my workouts. It is nonstop convention/classes/dinners/parties there, I swear. I'm packing my workout clothes and am going to work really hard to not drink at the parties so I can get up early before the conference starts and do at least my runs! And in case the weather is bad, or the gym at the hotel is sucky, I'm bringing my Insanity DVDs because I can do those in the room for a killer sweatfest.

I am so excited too because Thursday night we are going to Nobu for dinner. Um, Nobu in NYC is truly I'd have to say one of my favorite restaurants in the COUNTRY. It takes sushi to a whole other WORLD of goodness. I can't even describe it. Stay tuned for tons of pictures and vlogs from the BlogHer event- via my Posterous or Twitter feed. @kellyolexa

Now, I am babysitting for a friend this evening, so I have to run and watch Barbie movies. I had no time for a vlog today I'm sorry- but will shoot one tomorrow and do my best to keep you posted via pictures while I'm away!! ;=) Ok??

QUESTION OF THE DAY: What is your favorite salad that YOU MAKE at home? I need tips!!!

Brady talks Fitness below. Who am I kidding? If I had a video of Brady talking about roaches, I'd watch it. And post it. #Justsayin.

BRING IT.

Hey Kids!! What's UP!! Did you have a kick butt week? Did you make yourself proud? Did you make PROGRESS and not excuses?? I did. I ROCKED THIS WEEK. I killed it. Absolutely. I'm so proud. I'm so psyched. I'm on FIRE. Life is good and getting better every day! WOOT!!!

I mention in my vlogs below that today I did the Plyo Cardio DVD from the P90X program. Holy Hell. Seriously. This ROCKED MY FACE OFF. I was blown away, in a good way. And now I'm even more psyched for Insanity!! WOOOOOOOOOO.

Here's a little info I got from BeachBody on INSANITY:

"WHAT IS IT?

INSANITY is a 60-day cardio-based total-body conditioning program that’s

perhaps the most intense workout ever put on DVD. Fitness expert Shaun

T drew on his collegiate track and field training plus his subsequent years

of experience as an elite trainer to create a program that takes total-body

conditioning to an extreme level.

Just as P90X is the height of resistance training, so INSANITY is the pinnacle

of cardio training.

WHY IS IT EFFECTIVE?

Interval training allows you to beat the “stress adaptation response,” which

is what happens when your body gets used to exercising at one level of

exertion and stops improving. An interval workout includes a set where you

perform at your maximum, followed by one of lower intensity, with the cycle

repeated to achieve a cumulative effect.

INSANITY uses MAX Interval Training which replaces your moderate intensity

exercise with maximum-intensity exercise, and your short intervals

of intensity with short periods of rest. Adding high-intensity exercise,

during which your heart rate is raised to 80 percent or more of its maximum

capacity, forces your body to use fast-twitch muscle fibers not normally

engaged in cardio exercise. These fast-twitch fibers continue burning extra

fuel even during lower-intensity exercise.

INSANITY’s high-intensity activity is likely to have you working out at

over 85% of your maximum, instead of the lower rate recommended in

other programs. As a result, you’ll experience faster increases in fitness and

more efficient burning of carbohydrates and fat—as much as 1,000 calories

per hour."

NOTE; 30-DAY GUARANTEE!!! YOU CAN'T BEAT IT.
