Taking My Yoga Up Notches Unknown.

Everything happens for a reason. EVERYTHING.

Some of you might read that and roll your eyes- it's an adage repeated often and yet, my life, especially in the past 2-3 years has proven this to be true repeatedly. If you embrace this notion that everything, even the really bad, horrible stuff that happens is for a reason- and that we may not understand it NOW or for quite a while, but that we WILL eventually have that "A HA!" moment where it all comes together~ it sure makes getting through the dark times a lot easier.

I love what Joel Osteen says about how God says "IN ALL THINGS GIVE THANKS"- Joel points out that God isn't saying "Give thanks FOR all things, give thanks IN all things." Do you see the difference? So yea, when life hands you lemons, be thankful because it is happening for a reason. I could on for HOURS about this and give you examples in my own life. But, if you can learn from me, learn that. Embrace that philosophy to not FREAK OUT and WORRY when "stuff happens".

So what does all that have to do with Yoga?

I've tried yoga in the past and it did nothing for me. I've recently (with P90x Yoga of all things, a 90 minute sweat fest of tough work) become re-engaged with Yoga and have blogged about how I want to keep it in my workout rotations consistently this year. I still have not done it ENOUGH. I want to do more, but I find myself letting my week get in the way. I keep reading on Jenna's blog about her new hot yoga classes (EatLiveRun.com) and all my blogger buddies....I NEED THIS!

So, everything happens for a reason- I have always wanted to find a local CLASS to go to. I've often heard that people who do yoga regularly go to a CLASS and perhaps that was my missing link. I don't feel the same doing yoga alone at home. Not sure why. So anyway, I had dinner with my dear friend Amy and she tells me about these AMAZING hot yoga classes she is taking....she goes on and on and on.

I looked it up. The place is close. The prices are reasonable. And I have my dear friend to go with!~ HELLO! I was looking for this and Amy brought it to me. So, I'm also trying to be better and better with my spending this year. My goal is to pay off every ounce of debt I have and keep it that way. I was close before but the past 14 months after my company went bankrupt- you get it, no income~ your credit cards become a close buddy. I'm done with that. I cut them up. I'm paying them off. I'm learning to manage my $$ better. Like fitness, it is a work in progress. So- in order to justify taking some yoga classes, I cancelled my Netflix membership and another monthly charge. I'd rather put my discretionary income into improving my spiritual health and my physical health.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with Bikram Yoga or Hot Yoga, here's a clip I pulled from YouTube. Stay tuned. I'm really excited to BRING IT.
