Hello from Columbus, Ohio Y'all!

What's up my peeps? Hope you are having a great week. I had a rough time getting here (delayed flights and such) but I'm in Columbus, OH with GNC for The Arnold Sports Classic! WOOO!! So fun!!
I was utterly exhausted when I finally arrived this morning at 8am. Yes 8am arrival, which means after many many delays I was at the airport at like 3am originally I think. I got to the hotel and went to bed! No joke. But today I went over to see everyone setting up the Expo Hall- this is incredible here, over 180,000 people descend on Columbus for The Arnold each year.
Tomorrow I'll be meeting with some seriously amazing heavy hitters in the Figure and Bodybuilding Space (stay tuned for pictures and video!) as well as meeting up with about 10 or more of my FitFluential girls that are going to be here! So fun! And they'll have great media passes that let them interview some great people and so on.

I know I'm going to be chatting with Adela in the morning- how amazing is she? She's won like everything. I'm so in awe of figure competition-- hope to catch some of it on video. It's truly a science what these folks do to chisel their physiques into competition shape
That said- I've so been a bad blogger while traveling and as usual, I'm working on getting back into the swing of things. Stay tuned for videos uploading tomorrow afternoon!
Question of the Day: Have you ever been to The Arnold or The Olympia or any other Bodybuilding or Figure show?

I'm a first-timer this yr. Never been to a bodybuilding or figure show. Woot woot!
Honey- just wait. It is AMAZING. Seriously incredible experience.
too awesome girl! can't wait to see your pics and vid; and hell yeah-Adela...woohoo!
I came to the Arnold for the first time last year and I'm back to do it all over again this year! Love it!!!
What an incredibly selfish and unhealthy "sport"- having muscles for no reason other than to don a bikini and high heels and parade in front of judges. What a step backwards for real women athletes.
It's not unhealthy honey (to tinydancer)...it's only the last week or two that you put the body through the manipulations. It is a sport and these women are athletes; by being on that stage we show other women what working out in the gym can do for the body and most of these women end up helping other women with their health and fitness goals by being personal trainers and giving motivational talks etc.
I suppose though that you may think marathon runners are selfish since they just want to get to the finnish line -often with a prize at the end, and basketball players-what are they playing for-to win and entertain, and all the other sports out there? Are all athletes selfish? Have you ever seen a figure competitor or fitness gal workout in the gym; we work hard.
Sorry Kell Kell! just had to put my 2 cents in....yes, I am a figure competitor and proud of it! :-0
OOPs- Meant finish line ...lol oops entertain....fumble fingers!
I live in Ohio and plan to go to the Arnold every year and something happens. First, my figure skating daughters kept having competitions on that weekend. When they stopped competing, I thought that I would be able to go. Nope. Two years in a row I have gotten sick. I planned on going today but I have a nasty case of bronchitis. I was thinking that maybe I could go Sunday instead, but my 16 yo was asked on her first "big deal" date. Soooooooo there goes my plans for the Arnold once again!
I would like to co-sign on Raechelle's reply. I guess I'm a bit confused as to what a "real woman athlete" is. I train like a beast in the gym, I eat clean, I take care of my family-home-career, and I'm not an athlete because I step on stage in heels & a figure suit...?? Sorry, but I disagree with you on that one.
Kelly, I've never been to the Arnold but I'm crossing my fingers that my husband & I will be able to attend Olympia this year!
