Were You Wondering??

Wondering if I kicked butt today? Or if I took the day off? Um, what do YOU THINK? I'm ending this month with a serious WOOT! And a BOOYA to boot! ;-) See the triceps dip above-- one of my favorite ways to work my triceps (and mind you, I loathe working my triceps and chest the most, of all body areas, I hate those two areas!), in addition to the lying side tricep push-up- you know the ones Tony does in P90X Shoulders and Arms? I mean, other people do it (Tracy Effinger does it in Squeeze Stronger, come to think of it) but that's where I remember it the most because I do 20 each side.

I need to go get my belly ring fixed. I digress.

So....it was a beautiful day out today- about 70 degrees and sunny. I went to meet my friend for lunch and got SOOOO ANNOYED because all our streets were held up- why? BECAUSE APPARENTLY WE ALL HOLD TRAFFIC UP SO A BUNCH OF HARLEY RIDERS CAN ALL RIDE TOGETHER WITHOUT STOPPING. HOW does this happen? I mean really, I'd like to take a fast car and play INDY 500 on the roads out here but I highly doubt the cops would BLOCK INTERSECTIONS FOR ME TO DO SO. WHY do Harley riders get to stop all the rest of us just because they are on a group hug ride? WTH???

Do NOT get me wrong, I dig Harleys (is this the proper way to pluralize or is Harlies, that seems queer) and many of the fine mantastic specimens that ride them. Just don't get in MY way on a Saturday dude.

Don't get me wrong. If I saw this, I'd roll over and play dead IN THE ROAD just so he'd stop and help me. Don't lie, I know you would too. He definitely passes the Bark Test. GRRRRR

Anyway, after I made about 200 detours for our fine leathered out motorcycle brigade, I made it to lunch. Then I stopped at Target and got some GOODIES for my house!! OMG it's been too long since I went shopping. I got giddy in the organizational tools aisle. OCD, that's me.

Then I came home and was installing and putting things away and such, and it was about 5pm and I was NOT FEELING LIKE WORKING OUT but.....I was thinking of my calendar in here and how much I wanted it to show this week better than last week. I thought about hopping on the scale and seeing 3.2lbs lost last week and how I want to see 2 more gone next week....and then I got my workout clothes on. I got my UGIFit ball out and WENT NUTTY.

Let me tell you something, this ball is a miracle. It's a wonder. It's like, well, discovering this was like discovering that Starbucks offered both lo-fat milk, Skim AND Soy. And then when they added those cute desserts on a stick that are under 200 calories each. These things filled me with wonder and delight, like getting on my scale and seeing LESS of me to love.

Brilliant.

See that move above? Try doing mountain climbers that way. It takes working your core and your ARMS to another level!!! (I was not asked to do this review, I bought the UGIFit Kit on Amazon and just sharing my review, like I review everything!) Because the ball is so big, you can't grasp it all and hold with just your hands, so your arms are brought into every movement. My vlog below tells you more about my wow factor but in 30 minutes I had a 330 calorie burn sweatfest. I am SOOOO excited to do more! Soooo customizable and I plan to use my UGI in some Zuzana workouts where she uses the Sandbag. I don't have a sandbag. When I think of sandbag I think of my ex-husband and I'm glad I don't have that around anymore. Oh wait, I guess I was thinking DIRTBAG not sandbag. Same thing.

I made a funny.

OMG Tricep Dips are SOOOO much more intense on this thing. I'm telling you, I gasped out loud kind of like when Jason Statham does stuff like this in movies:

Another Bark Test Moment.

All I can say kids is that I love the UGI at first workout. I LOVE HIM. I can't wait to throw him around a lot more. I have violence issues, so what? It helps me have more intense workouts! ;-)

So.....enjoy my little ramble-on-a-thon about the UGI, and also forgive me for saying a naughty R-rated word in here, but I wasn't about to reshoot my vlog. Kelly had to go sit in the corner after this vlog, I promise. ;-0

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Are you ending this month of April on a high note with your workouts (for the month) or do you need to KICK BUTT in May to balance it out?

That ride was an Autism Awareness Ride. They aren't just cruisin' around stopping traffic ;)
They do it for the 2Day Breat Cancer walk too....stop all the traffic so we can cross =)

I understand your frustration though...I'd be annoyed too

and p.s. I need to kick MAJOR butt in May!!

April 30, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterkelly

Kelly- ok so first of all- that is totally cool- WHY ON EARTH if they are doing this to raise awareness, didn't they put up signs along the route, so that people in cars sitting there being annoyed, could figure it out and not be annoyed? I don't get it. ;-0

Good point, they should post signs when they do stuff like that.
There are signs ALL OVER the city for the 2Day

I did the Avon Breast Cancer 3-day and LOVED IT!!!!! Wanna do it again but it's hard to ask for $$ again from the same peeps.....

try the 2Day.....I think it's less to raise($1800) than the 3Day, I really advertised on Facebook and that helped, as well as my company giving a nice size donation. Since it's a tax deduction
It definitely humbled me....This is my second year doing it, I think I have to do the 2day for a few years before I consider the 3Day ;)
Good for you for doing the 3Day!!! That's awesome!!!!

May 1, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterkelly

I did the 3-day YEARS AGO like probably 10 years ago even, and we had to raise $1200 I think! Times have changed....I guess now that I'm such a popular cupcake in social, I could get totally new peeps to sponsor me. When is in Chicago this year? And I tell you- doing the 3-day, totally humbled me and put me in AWE of others.

I'm not sure when the 3day is...the 2day is the first weekend in June
And I was thinking that too...the way you are so socially connected I bet you would go above and beyond the required amount to raise :)

April was an OK month but May will be a lot better. I always keep track of my workouts in a log book and weekly on my blog BUT you had mentioned the calendar workout log and I started doing that last week. Working on a blog post all about it because I LOVE it. Seeing what I have done for the week all in one stop instead of having to look in a log book has worked wonders. I like to see what workout I did, how many calories I burned and how many stars I gave that particular workout. Good stuff! And I'm using my Wonder Woman calendar, how fitting LOL

That Ugi Fit ball looks awesome and I think it would work great in place of the sandbag Zuzana uses. Need a Fitboss too. More to add to my Amazon wish list.

Got a new lawnmower this weekend and I'm excited to get out there today and mow the lawn. Such a great calorie burn for me since we have a pretty big yard! And it looks like it's going to be a nice day here in IL. Planted some veggies this weekend so hopefully in a few months we'll have some healthy goodness.

Kelly- are you doing either? Did you already answer that question LOL?

Angie!! I'm glad my silly little calendar thing helps! It sooo works for me....I want that calendar FULL for a year!!!!
Do you mean a GYMBOSS? I gotta figure out how to work that thing! DANG!!!
I'm planting tomatoes after the 15th - too scared to do it before that !!! I'm no green thumb believe me....

May 2, 2011 | Registered CommenterKelly Olexa

yes, I am doing the 2DAy!!! :)

May 2, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterkelly

April was a great month, but May started out with a bang - my first half marathon and I killed it! Can't wait to see what the rest of May brings!!! I'm loving it!
Now to go watch your video and see how naughty of a word it was...

May 2, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJulie

oooh that ball is very cool! I can see how it would be SO much more challenging than, well, a nonsquishy ball!

haha I don't know the plural of harleys? that sucks though - traffic makes me cry.

May 2, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterfittingbackin

KELLYKINS!! Do you know I've been too lazy to even Google the Harley plural thing...and yes, traffic makes me sad and cry too! ;-(
Julie!!!!! NICE ONE ON YA!! DOUBLE FIST PUMP OVER HERE FOR YOU!! WOOOO!!!
Ok Chicago Kelly= I'm gonna have to check dates to see if I can do the 2-day!!

May 2, 2011 | Registered CommenterKelly Olexa

Yes, meant Gymboss.

I sure hope our plants grow nicely (tomatoes and bell peppers). We'll see! Off to water them now. This will be my 1st time growing veggies and if it works and I don't kill them, might try a variety.

I grew tomatoes year before last and they were wonderful. I just have to move my biga** planter around on my deck for better sun.
