Monday Manjoyment!

I still really don't understand how the whole baggy jeans falling off the a** is sexy, but whatevs. You go with the flow Nelly, I'm down with it. For Realz.
*Ahem*
Happy Monday kittens!! How was your weekend? We had a long weekend, as today we are off for MLK day. It has been snowing like a motha here and now it is sleeting and freezing rain- good times! I've been inside my house ALL DAY LONG. I love not leaving my house. It feels so indulgent, when so often I'm on the road running around like a madwoman.
Inner Peace.
I did workout today- and I did ONLY Cathe Butts N Guts. It was very nice and the glutes are on FIYUH! Total calorie burn of 505 Calories. I stress that I ONLY did Butts N Guts because usually my overtraining mind would start off with 20 minutes of HIIT and THEN I'd do Butts N Guts and THEN I'd probably do some more cardio. OVERTRAINING does nothing. I am really going to focus on sticking to working out every day, but like focusing on an hour max. I know my issues the past couple years have centered around trying to do TOO MUCH and then- hello I have a dang shoulder issue.
Yes the shoulder still hurts today- although not as much. I may force myself to see the doctor about it, as this is like 10 days of pain...not agony or anything but noticeable pain. Wincing. And wincing makes me THAT MUCH CLOSER TO BOTOX.

Gollyyyyy I need a massage. Did I tell you kids I had my first HOT STONE one in Vegas? It was exquisite. This may have to be my new thing. I need to start dating.....a man that owns a massage parlor in every state....so I can show up and say I'm Roger's girlfriend and they'll drop everything to pamper me. This is what I need. And yes, I would even date him if his name was Roger. It could be fun.
Or, I could just be "special friends" with Nelly. I'm fine with that.
Anyway, gotta run y'all. Tomorrow is gonna be madness and I want to enjoy some more LOAFING ON PURPOSE today. ;-)
I made a killer salad for lunch today FINALLY (because I kind of suck at making my own salads)- so today's QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do you make kicka** salads at home? What ingredients do you insist on so that it is amazing?? And can I hire you?
Cathe Butts N Guts,
Monday Manjoyment,
Nelly

Hey there Kelly! I did leave a comment on FB regarding going to a massage parlor. In school we would get in trouble for calling places that due to the bad reputation they had in the past. Hope you didn't take that wrong. Hope your shoulder thing get's better. You are such a trooper & inspiration to me. Keep up the great work and I love your Monday Manjoyment. Nothing like some great eye candy! Hugs, Bobbi Jo
Im sooo with ya on the hot stone massages .... Arent they the best?!
I would get that shoulder looked at if it continues hurting just to be on the safe side.
Deborah- I was totally thinking, "why did I wait so long to try this??" and yes, I'm def going to the doctor! ;-)
Bobbi Jo- of course I didn't take it wrong! Silly girl! XOXOX
Hey Kelly, sounds like your shoulder is on the mend. Glad to hear that. Kev and I love getting a couples massage when we are in Jamaica but haven't had any massages locally. The gym we are looking at switching to in Libertyville (XSport) has a spa so that is pretty exciting. I did Turbo Jam today (it's been a while) and would love to read more about her other workouts (they are all on my Amazon wish list LOL). Had to make up for missing personal training and spin at the gym with this nasty weather we are having.
Have a great week!
Hey Ang - I will do a review on the TurboFire workouts- I have Turbo Jam but never really tried it. I also have ChaLean Extreme but I didn't use it as much- not that it isn't good, but I just had a hard time figuring out when to do what workout...was a bit confusing to me. Chalene rocks though, and I love the insane music on TurboFire- totally fun. ;-) I need to look up Libertyville on a map now.....haha
OMG I kid you not this song was my FAVORITE my freshman year of college. For real - I was 18 and my bestie Nikki was 19. We knew every word (still do) and I was SO "18 18 with an attitude." LOVE IT! Thanks for this AND for that picture of a hot stone massage. I've never had one but want to get one!! I'm sorry about your shoulder - hang in there!
It's a CLASSIC isn't it?? heheheh
I have never had a hot stone massage but a friend of mine said she felt surreal afterwards, almost like she couldn't even drive. I soooo need a massage. I'm still looking for a certain masseuse, Sven the Nordic Giant, with hands the size of hams that will knead my muscles for an hour straight w/o any sissy stuff going on and worrying about hurting me. My muscles are tight! It seems like all of the massage therapists around here are frail women with delicate little hands. Anyhow, when a big guy sets up shop around here with no nonsense giant hard-working digits, I'll be first in line.
Glynis, I hear you. Surprisingly this girl in Vegas was a tiny thing, but she ranks as one of the best. My guy here in Chicago is amazing but he has been out for surgery and illness for over a month. Makes me realize how dang spoiled I am! ;-) I'm counting down to my next one now!!
Look at you all dressed up with make up for a workout - DANG GIRL :)
Funny you mention the Ipod. I have been searching itunes this morning for new workout mixes myself. I think I skipped half the playlist yesterday while I was running trying to "feel the music" lol.
My favorite "salads" are:
-Cucumber, tomato, kalamata olives and feta with a EVOO and balsamic vinegar dressing
-Avocado/Mango, pinch of sea salt and balsamic vinegar
-Caprese Salad<<<<<-----FAV!!!
Not necessarily healthy but all good!! =)
The BIG SALAD-you know I had to chime in on this one! I put everything in my salads (except meat and hopefully hair-gack!). I too luvs me sum iceberg lettuce but also add spinach, carrots, celery, tomatoes, red onions, green pepper (or any other color I may have), broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber (providing it hasn't already met its demise in the veggie drawer-where cucs go to die), fresh mushrooms, a hard boiled egg and my kinda weirdo thing...some thawed frozen peas. Vinegar and oil with s/p for "dressing." If I'm feeling particularly indulgent, a sprinkle of cheddar, mozz or provolone and 4-5 croutons maybe a couple green olives with real salad dressing. Like with everything, the trick to salads is to prepare. I cut up all my veggies and store them in containers so I can just chuck them in a bowl. Peppers and Cucs have a shorter life expectancy this way tho so slice n' dice at your own risk. Also, if you've already got this stuff cut up, you can throw together an awesome low fat/low cal stir fry or veggie sammich (add lean turkey or whateva if ya want). It makes prep time so much faster for a variety of dishes.
FALSE EYELASHES-Like you I'd always wanted to wear them but had fears. I think there's an I Love Lucy or Mary Tyler Moore episode lurking in my subconscious with that one. LoL Buuut, I faced my fears-up close and personal in my makeup mirror and found...it's not as scary as I thought it would be. Use a toothpick to apply the glue to the strip. Let it dry for a couple seconds before applying otherwise it will slide around-and won't stick as well for the long haul. Start at outer corner of eye right next to your real lashes and press with fingernail tip working inwards. I'm still out on whether to apply mascara before or after. I think I like before so the lashes don't get gunked up. I've managed to accummulate about 25 pairs of lashes, many theatrical for photo shoots like on my home page. Big fun!
SHOULDER PAIN-Have you considered that it may not be in your shoulder but more pectoral-related? http://www.askthehealthclub.com/test-anathomy-drawing.html Check out the bottom chart. From what you've described it almost seems as if the origins may be in the deltopectoral triangle area? Do bench press type moves send you? I've had some issues in the pec region as well-where HAVEN'T I had issues?? If perchance you have some problems there, my chiro gave me a simple stretch move for the overall area. Place arms on either side of door frame and slowly, gently lean into and through the door keeping your feet together and in place. Hope your doc can shed some light on this for you. Persistent, nagging pain is the pits! It's like having an overbearing MIL with you all the time. LoL! No offense MILS!
Duuuude, Revlon makes fake eyelashes with the adhesive already on them now and they ROCK!! I got mine at Walgreens for like 3 bucks for New Years...3 BUCKS!!! So easy to put on and they last till you take them off...really had to pull to get those suckers off! For everyday I hate fake lashes though. I only started wearing them when I did figure shows and now I like them for special occasions cause they just make you look awesome in photographs lol!!! One of my favorite memories ever is of Tina trying to glue hers on when we were getting ready for a show and I looked up in the mirror to see a huge blob of white glue on her eyelid and her screaming her eye was glued shut and for me to help her...I seriously about pissed myself laughing so hard. Good times. :)

Stacey- OMG who knew? Maybe I should wait and when I am around you, you can put them on me?? Hmmm I'm kind of SCARED now. But yea they make you look GOOD! Deverie- DANG GIRL!! You go on with that hujazz salad. But- HERE IS THE THING I LOVE ADDING PEAS TOO!! That's from salad bar days!! LOL ;-) Love it. And OMG thanks for providing that link- I think that is EXACTLY what the issue is. I'm also gonna get myself to a chiro! STAT!! Thanks so much! XOXO
Kelly- CAPRESE IS MY FAV TOO!! OMG!! ;-) Amy- I'm gonna hang on YouTube and find some new tunage. I love The Veronicas all because of you though. ;-)
YES! Wendy's salad bar, circa 1983-PEAS!! that's where it started for me too! You're totally welcome on the chart. I don't play a dr. on tv but I pretend to be one in real life. Home surgery is my specialty. lol Lots of hrs. spent in the chiro's office waiting for him so I study the charts on the walls. Did you know we have a bone in our foot called the Medial CUNEIFORM? Will have to see if there's a hand bone (not ham bone) called the Intermediary Heiroglyph. I'll decipher them both with my Rosetta Kidney Stones.
OMG Wendy's salad bar--- I so remember that!!! ;-)
and I am going to try some home liposuction this weekend hahahaha
