CRUSHED IT.

I think this will be my feeling when I finish my first 5K. Then my first 1/2 marathon and GULP my first marathon.

Notice I didn't say IF.

As I write my blog posts and try to find images of TBC's (Total Badass Chicks) I am discovering new amazing women all the time that inspire me. That is Lolo Jones above. I am SO not someone that watches the Olympics but maybe now that I'm Ms. Athlete I will.....all that said, this woman is ALL THAT AND MORE. DANG.

I have a new girl crush obsession. Totally.

Ok, so I had a kick butt run/workout this morning. I talk about this in my rambling vlog-a-thon below but today was A LOT HARDER to run/breathe in this insane humidity we have going today. I was really struggling, so I did the last 15 minutes of the 30 minute run with Walk/Run. What do you all think about running inside on treadmills vs. outside? And I need to read up more on running in insane heat/humidity. I don't want to get down on myself for not performing if I really should be focused on NOT running when the weather is like that or running earlier WAY EARLIER in the morning.

A lot of you have written asking about the Shakeology shakes. Yes, I totally love them. I'm having one a day, usually post-run. I have yet to try the chocolate but I'm going to because I hear they ROCK. You can order Shakeology from my Beachbody website by CLICKING HERE.

I also mention in my vlog that next weekend I will be in Tampa with Ms. Jenny Lynn, FINALLY. We have been trying to coordinate this visit with me going down to see her or her coming up to see me for like a year! DANG! Finally these two busy chicks are hanging out. And YOU will get to see lots of video from that, and in the future, a whole LOT MORE from Ms. Jenny Lynn.

HELLO!!! Seriously. And you can get the hat I wear in today's vlog at Jenny's site.

I must run kittens. Have a fabulous rest of the day. I have SO MUCH CATCHING UP TO DO ON YOUR BLOGS!! Please forgive me. If you see my Google Reader you would know how many blogs I read for fitness and then for business. It is frightening. I have had to say, I will do 1/2 hour each day, morning and/or night and just read as I can. I literally don't have time to read all of you every day but I WISH!!! ;-(

Peace Out.

Great start... See you on the Marathon circuit in a year or two...

Dan, I assume you've already been there done that?? I'm so excited!

Yes Kelly... Been there for almost 5 years now and my first 5k was the toughest. It's a great distance to test yourself and I continue doing several throughout the year in an effort to gauge my speed. I'm not fast but keep trying and also toss in a few Half's and a Marathon or two every each year. The weather this year has been extreme so hopefully we'll return to somewhat normal conditions for the fall. Have you picked the event for your first 5k?

You are in Chicago? Me too! I understand your weather issues because I biked only 2 miles today and was sweating bullets!!

Do you put anything in your Greenberry? I can't do that flavor unless I throw in a banana or something, but I know a ton of people love it...I just need the right recipe!

About treadmills, the moving belt does help propel you a bit so you should increase the incline to about 2% to simulate real terrain. Also, you don't get the wind resistance and weather issues, like you mentioned, running indoors. However, if the weather is really bad, it is better to get a good run indoors rather than a crappy one outdoors...in my opinion :) Love your progress on the running though! You will knock out those goals in no time!

Hey Girl!! OMG do you know all this time when I saw your comments I was thinking it was another Nicole. How silly of me!! Yes I'm in the NW burbs of Chicago- yay!! We'll get to hang soon AND I'm adding your blog to my reader and my link-love page! Yippee!
I do love the Greenberry Shake- I make it with Vanilla Almond milk and a banana. Did you try the Chocolate??
Thanks for the insight on inside vs. outside. I just ordered another book on running for women. I'm an addict!!

Thats funny you're saying you're trying to find TBC b/c in my eyes, you are the ultimate! Anytime I am feeling down and don't want to workout (umm when I know damn well I should) I come to your blog and get some motivation.....so thank you

Running and humidity don't jive well in my world so I am waiting one more month or so to start running again just b/c I can't do it. I mean, I can but I feel like I am going to pass out which is no bueno.

Bummer that the baseball team was youngins, I was gonna ask if they were hot!! :) And with that, off to work out with my kettlebell!

Work that Kettelbell girl. Own it. And yes, if those "boys" were older and hot, I'd probably run an extra hour right?? LOL

I love the Chocolate! But...I pretty much love anything chocolate so I may be biased! I threw some almond milk & a dash of almond extract into my Greenberry last night and it was much better...thanks for the suggestion!!

Thanks for adding my blog, I'm just getting started and it is still a work in progress. I'm not sure which direction I'm really trying to go with it at this point...still finding my voice! Love your blog and especially the video blogs. I hope to start doing those at some point, but I feel like I'm such a dork on camera :)

Nicole if you've watched even one of my vlogs you know that I am Dork.com. Go for it.

Hi Kelly,

just wanted to say thanks for your great vlogs, they're really inspiring. I'm also on this journey to great health, and coming to your site really helps me; not only do I learn a lot, I also feel I'm not alone, like someone else in the world is going through the same challenges. Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Greetings from Slovenia

If you can put up with the heat and the humidity, keep going! You won't be able to get the same speeds but you're exerting more effort, so you're definitely getting a good workout still. To be safe, watch for signs of heat stroke. I use to love running during the summer because by the time fall comes around, running suddenly felt so much easier!

Ann- wow, I never thought of it that way, where the runs will be easier in the Fall. How about Winter- do you run outside??
