HEY Kids!! Happy Hump Day!! I had a killer workout this morning. Just finishing up a fabulous gluten-free lunch- Jumbo Shrimp cocktail, some rice chips (made to taste like corn chips! YUM) and salsa, and I have a sweet potato in the oven too! YUMMY!! Shrimp cocktail is an easy, lo-cal, lo-fat meal. 8 jumbo shrimp =100 calories. Hello.
Today I did P90X Chest/Shoulders/Triceps. I loathe working my chest and as I mention in the vlog below, this workout is way heavy on the push-ups. But I won't give in and not do this workout again, it WILL remain in my rotation specifically because I hate it. That means I need to conquer it. RIGHT?
I followed the workout with Cathe's HIIT 30/30. Nice. I chose to not use the step at all and BOY it's still a kick butt intense sweatfest. Seriously.
We got pounded with a large dump of snow yesterday- probably a foot or so. Not as crazy as I expected by any means. We can deal with it. ;-)
Gotta run. TONS to do today. Lots of ass-kicking to be done. WOOT!

Glad you are sticking with the pushups; they are awesome for the core.
And just to add to what you mentioned about balancing out the workout and not avoiding certain muscle groups-by over training one and not training the other can have very adverse affects; for example training just the quads and not training the hammies can cause some nasty knee problems.
:-)
cheers hon!
Rae Rae, I know that's right. And that's what I am really focusing on, balance in all areas; diet, training, work vs. downtime etc. ;-)
My husband is doing P90 and he loves (/loves to hate) that workout! I totally agree that you have to monitor your eating so you don't get too heavy in one area (protein, carbs, fats...chocolate & coffee ;)). I am focusing on increasing my protein intake right now. Since I went vegetarian, I find it so much easier to eat like a bunny on veggies, fruits and other carbs all day! Thanks for answering my question about the eye makeup! I need to learn to do my makeup better- I get super lazy.
Erica, what do you eat for protein?
So my secret it out! I love working my chest because it DOES look like a boys :) I'm proud of it. I've never had more than an A+ cup so it's easy for me to see the muscles, veins and striations.
You know working your chest also works shoulders and triceps!
April, that is so funny. You know my whole life, I've wanted to have small boobies and I inherited my momma's big ones. Good times.
