Peace, Hot Yoga and TRX....on SALE! WOOT!

Hey Kittens!! Happy Sunday!!

Today is a great day. I mean, really, every day is a great day, but I am so excited about so much!! I'm heading to finally hit that Hot Yoga class with Amy today. I had planned to do P90X Yoga but then Amy texted me and read my mind. We're gonna get our sweat on, Bikram-style. I may have mentioned to you- that one of my TOP goals for 2011 is to do yoga at minimum once a week. I've been yapping about that for a year, and I always tend to push it to the back burner, as much as I know I need it and enjoy it.

So, thank you Amy again for reading my mind and - I'll tell all of YOU about the Zen Sweatfest later! ;-)

In the mean time, OMG kids!! I am really psyched about my TRX!!! I took it all out of the package and watched the DVD that came with it. I bought the main set plus the door anchor so when I travel, I can do entire workouts in my hotel room. I was never skeptical of the killer training potential of the TRX system, I've been reading others rave about it for over a year now, and then Amy went to a class taught by a certified instructor and she was DYING (in a good way). But, after watching the DVD, and then downloading my three free workouts (like 45-60 minute workouts), I realize there is SO much more to this system than I realized. I'm going to be a giddy child!!

**Shameless Promotion Here: A buttload of you have been writing me here and on Facebook saying you want to get a TRX. It is 15% OFF today, and that discount goes to 10% off tomorrow. If you are ready to get your system CLICK HERE.  (Please note that this IS an affiliate link, as I'm likely going to pursue certification in TRX training in 2011, so DUH why not earn a commission when my peeps order from me?)**

I am really REALLY excited about more yoga and a crapload of TRX workouts.....I can throw this whole system in a small bag in my suitcase!! LOVE THAT!! You never know what kind of hotel gym you are gonna get people. And with my travel schedule for 2011- it appears I'll be on the road MORE than being home. Good times. ;-)

Also- some of you had asked me about quitting soda and now artificial sweetener. Ok- much of this (me now ditching Splenda) came from reading Tim Ferris' Four Hour Body and also reading Tony Horton's new book (he is adamant about sweeteners) and - of course my Angel Amy is The CleanMaster. (Amy that should be your new Guru Title, FTR). But, most of what I drink now during the day is WATER. NEVER EVER thought I'd get to the point where I'd be drinking water all day and NOT going "OMG I'm dying for a coffee/soda etc." ---it's been a process. When I am out and get something (from a drive through) it's Unsweetened Iced Tea. When I have sushi, I get green tea, no sugar. Now- I still have my morning Cappuccino made with my Tassimo (which is real milk) and what I use now---is SUGAR. A teaspoon of real sugar. My plan was to use this and then taper it off. It's an adjustment~~ the thing about fake sweeteners is that they are a TRILLION times sweeter than the real thing so our taste buds get used to things WAAAAYYY sweeter. Anyway, I just don'g dig Stevia. At all. Bleehhh. So- in Tim's book he talks about cinnamon- I added to my cappuccino yesterday with slight LESS sugar and BAM. We have a winner. So I will be weaning that teaspoon of sugar down and keeping the cinnamon. YUM.

Gotta run! Y'all have a GREAT kick butt day!!!

QUESTION OF THE DAY: What is the best part of the holiday season for you? (I have to be honest, for the first time in ages, I actually SLEPT IN like until 9am!! OMG!! It was heaven!!)

Thanks for the link! Just the kick in the a$$ I needed to order TRX! I'm traveling an unprecedented amount for biz in 2011 and this will help me master getting my workouts in while on the road. I got to use it with my personal trainer for a few months awhile back so I already KNOW I love it. :)

I agree the best part of the holidays for me are sleeping in. I am FORCED to take off of work and actually do nothing. I have found myself working super late hours and weekends as well but since no one else is working it gives me the "green light" to go home , relax and sleep!!! :)

p.s. Last night I ordered the 4 Hour Body on Amazon. It's so funny when I listen to your vlogs and you said you got all your working out/eating tips from various blogs..Lately you are mine. I read Kristin too but I know I am not a millimeter as disciplined as she is. Thanks for sharing all your good tips and trials and tribulations!!! Keep up the good work!

Stef!! OMG I am so excited. I have not done my first official TRX workout, but just watching that video- OMG I can tell it is SOOOOO customizable and the exercises you can do are neverending. Thanks for ordering through me, I appreciate it! Heck, I might order another so I have one for my suitcase and one for my home gym.....any way to help minimize what I have to pack.....
Kelly- THANK YOU so much for your sweet comment! that makes my day! I'll be interested to see what you think about from the 4-Hour Body. He is a great guy in my book (hahah) simply for 1) doing all the testing/research and 2) standing firm on what he believes in- not customizing his book so everyone would love it. He speaks his mind and I love that.

Hi Kelly,

I haven't been working out in the last few days because of the holidays and I feel like I am falling into lazy mode but I always get such good inspiration from your blog and after watching Your vlogs I am so ready to get back into the gym and kick some ass! Lol! You seem to be getting to the right place with regards to food and letting go of your fears and trusting yourself with making the right choices, I wish i could say the same for myself but I am not there yet and there are still things I need to work on but I'll get there eventually!
Thanks again for being an inspiration!

Best thing about holidays is sleep and my mom's dinner! ;)

Valentina- girl, it has been a LONG TIME for me to get here....I wish I would have 'figured this out" for myself earlier but I guess that's it....we have to do it on our own timeline for it to really click. ;-) I love sleep. LOVE IT.
Jennifer- I'm so on it!! ;-)

"What is the best part of the holiday season for you?" Ummmm, when it's over? LOL! I also have a birthday to deal with so yeah, another year older-wooflippinhoo.

Kelly, you were talking about hormones. sigh...yep, at soon-to-be 46 and no childrens, dun dealt with all that too. It used to be that I had a little "pooch" below the belly button that was a buggar but after the hormones kicked in, it moved to the north side. Well sure, the schools are better there but...dang! hello! no kids! LoL!

I've had a lot of constant stress in life since then too so I'm sure cortisol has had a heavy hand in that since that is a prime area for that. Ah well, after my neck surgery, I'll be back, kickin' ass, cortisol and belly bulge be damned! My goal is to actually be able to show my belly by next summer. And by "show my belly" I mean not because my top has crept up over the top of my stretchy pants while I'm reaching for the last bottle of Medium Flavor Ortega on the Wal Mart shelf (true story that could have ended in litigation-lol). Picture this, Sicily, 1928, a woman balancing on a shopping cart with one foot and her other foot on the bottom shelf of a display rack...all for medium flavor...

Deverie, LMAO!!!! I'm still picturing the balancing cart thing!!! hashahaha
Hormones SUCK. That's all there is to it. I mean, I've NEVER had the metabolism of being easily thin- I've always had curves but right now, whoa. You'd think my body was anticipating the Apocalypse the way it is holding on to the fat in my hips. I'm OVER that and like you, my goal is to be proudly showing off my torso. Done. AMEN.
