Monday Manjoyment!

God Bless those British.

What's up kids? Thank you all for your kind words of support. I sooo appreciate it, I've received so many emails with sweet thoughts and ideas for how to help. Thank you so much.

Anyway, I started off this week right. Amy and I have vowed to kick butt this last 4 weeks until the 1/2 Marathon in Vegas, and then of course continuing through the end of the year. Sherry and I were texting today about our plans- we are exchanging progress pictures each week so we aren't "all talk". It's down to business time. I'm surrounded by experts and peeps that are already there and can guide me along the way- NO EXCUSES!!! And how exciting is it to know that you CAN DO IT?? When you are really ON YOUR GAME and monitoring and tracking everything- then you know when something isn't right, because it's either 1) Diet or 2) Training. When you are consistently training HARD and eating right (or what you think is "right" for you) and you aren't seeing results, then you tweak. Tweak that diet until the results are more in line with what you want. Period.

You know I like a man with a gun. Especially when they know how to use it. WHAT?

Edit and go.

No Starving. No Fad Diets. Just hard, intense workouts CONSISTENTLY (that's key for me, no more letting work and travel schedules impede my progress!!!!) and a solid diet of healthy foods and heroin.

Just seeing if you are actually READING. hehehe

I'm on it. Got up at 5am, sprung out of bed like a bunny, hoped that my alarm clock was wrong and that it was only Huge Jackman whispering in my ear, then had a reality check and got up and headed to the gym. I ran 3 miles, and have LEGS on the schedule this evening. TAKE THAT! 425 calories down this morning, we'll see what the workout this evening burns. Stay tuned.

**UPDATED: I killed it folks. I OWNED IT! Did Cathe HIIT 30/30 then did P90x Legs & Back for a total calorie burn of 535 Calories. BOOYA! That means all in all, I burned 960 Calories. I'm coming it around 2000 calories today, against my original plan. I went a bit nutty (hahahaha no pun intended) on the trail mix today. That stuff ADDS UP people. Gotta track it. Tomorrow I'd like to stay closer to 1500. Generally, for the next month I'll shoot for 1500-1800 days. We'll see how that works. GOLLY I want to find that ideal fit for me. What I don't wanna do is eat too little. I KNOW that this will not work, it has finally sunk in, and incidentally, Sherry just talked to a nutritionist/physiologist dude (is that right Sherry? forgot his credentials) at GNC that was explaining why we must eat and fuel when we are training hard to lose. I'm down with THAT.***

In the mean time, please enjoy this treasure chest of Daniel Craig in a montage of shirtless wonder. Imagine the dear soul that took the time to put this together. Bless Your Heart.

I'm not usually one that digs blondes but I'll make an exception for Danny. What are your thoughts? I find him to be mentally stimulating. And by mentally stimulating I mean, he doesn't even need to speak, I just can just IMAGINE what he would say, and frankly, it really doesn't matter.

Oh, on that note, QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do you divide your workouts up- like cardio in the morning and weights later, or do you do it all at once? Just curious. If together, what is your average total workout time? If you had the chance, would you rather workout with Daniel Craig or Vin Diesel? Boys, would you rather workout with Pamela Anderson or Kim Kardashian? Deep thoughts.

And now, for your fall asleep listening pleasure, here is today's Ramble-on-a-Thon.

Vin Diesel

When my workouts were more intense, I split cardio and weights up. I'd do weights in the morning and cardio at night. I felt I could have more intensity in each workout if I did it that way!

Lisa- I kinda like splitting my workouts up right now.....we'll see how long it lasts!! LOL
Leah, I love me some Vin Diesel.

WWWHHHHAAAATTTTT - I find out from a blog post that you were considering not running Vegas? During these moments of temporary insanity please call :D

Honey we will cross the finish line and no matter what the time is it will be a personal record :D so just do your best and finish!

I split up my workouts....cardio first thing in the morning and lifting later in the day....it just seems to work better for me as opposed to doing it all at once. And I would rather work out with Vin Diesel....I mean....who wouldn't want a big muscley fine piece of manmeat assisting them with their squats or deadlifts?!?! ;)

hair extensions...giggle, giggle! No I'm kidding...if your stylist is anything like my baby brother-they'll be fab...they are pretty in right now-much better than in the 80's.
Um..? of the day...When I trained for a figure comp I did some cardio (on the treadmill) right after my weights workout as well as speed walk on my non weight days aaaand I did the treadmill 6 afternoons a week as well...or when I got closer to my comp I started doing tabata style HIIT 3 afternoons a week and treadmill 3 afternoons a week.

Right now I just do my running 3 days a week and no cardio on my weight days.
No preference of Vin or Daniel...I'm lame.
Oh, speaking of lame-I'm totally with you on sneaking out of those parties early...unless I'm partying with my family (which is non alcoholic paryting for me these days!) which is just once a year-I'd definitely be sneaking out...hehehe

Sorry again about your loss...stay strong during that service hon! His family will need strength from someone! xoxo

Killer calorie burn kelly girl! ... I have combined weights with cardio in the past but i find i am able to give more intensity to my workouts when i split them. Maybe because in my head i think 'don't go too hard cos you still have cardio to do?". I like to train weights in the morning and cardio in the arvo. I actually run faster in the arvo too.... Guess what? I just picked up my Vibrams today, will keep you posted how they go!

Hi Kelly!! You have a follower all the way in Ireland! :)
Let me say that I absolutely love your blog it's very inspiring and motivational at the same time! I am fitness obsessed and work out 5-6 days per week, I do all my workouts in the evening after I finish work and it's mostly classes which incorporate cardio and weight training, I am not a big fan of working out on my own but hey! Whatever works right? The only bad thing I would say about working out in the evening is that it really messes with my sleep, if I have an intense work out it is very likely that I will not have a good night sleep, apart from that I have no complaints!

Valentina!! Wow that is so awesome!! Thank you so much for the kind words, that means everything to me! ;-) I hear you on the sleep thing, the past couple of years my sleep habits have been.....not good. I take Excedrin PM a LOT!! ;-0 oh well.....good for YOU though on working out at night after a long day....it's tough, but you've clearly made it a habit!! Keep it up!!! WOOT!!
Chelle, I have to ask, what is "arvo"?? ;-)
Rae Rae- I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one that just likes going to bed early and working out....not that I don't like to hang out with friends, but being at nightclubs where you have to scream to talk to someone.....it's just lame. ;-( I don't miss it when I'm gone, at ALL!! AMY B!! That's right! I crushed it today!!

Some days I do cardio in the mornings and weights at night, but my boot camp classes are all mixed up. Sometimes I do them and some extra cardio. I'd say my workout total time is anywhere from 1 to 2 1/2 hrs per day, depending on the day. The long days are just because I *like* doing the long runs or racewalks or whatever for "fun."

Chele, please post how you like your Vibrams!! I'm stil totally loving mine!

heroin? LOL I read all the way through you nut! He is SO freaking hot - love him as bond!

Do you divide your workouts up- like cardio in the morning and weights later, or do you do it all at once? I do cardio during lunch and weights after work! (sometimes I do weights during lunch too - but it really depends!)

If you had the chance, would you rather workout with Daniel Craig or Vin Diesel? Daniel Craig!! (only because he's hotter to me)

November 9, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterfittingbackin

Kelly- this might sound silly but if you do cardio at lunch, do you bring clothes to change into, do you shower and such, or is it a lighter workout?
Glynis, I LOVE bootcamp style workouts too!! Totally.

November 9, 2010 | Registered CommenterKelly Olexa

So basically, I'm loving your blog too!!!! Thanks so much for stopping by mine 'cause I pretty much adore yours as well!

DAng on the calorie burned!!! your a machine!! I'm new, but what are your goals- lose fat, gain muscle, etc?

Right now I'm not really doing any cardio, just letting the heavy weights and diet keep me in track. So far, so good!! But if I had to do both, I think it would depend. I love my morning workouts because I get so lazy in the afternoons so I would probably just get it over with after weights!

November 9, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterApril

Wow that is a lot of burned calories! Good going! As for my workouts I usually split the cardio and weights. If I do it all together I get too fatigued and it takes my body a long time to recover. I do 60 minutes of weights in the morning and sometimes an hour long walk later+20 minutes of bike.

Valen- seems that many of us split the weights and cardio....and it seems a bit less overwhelming to fit into my schedule also! Checking out your blog now, and adding to my reader!! ;-)
April!!!!! Ok so my TOP goal at present is to lose FAT. I've been working out for several years, more intensely with weight training after I first started with a trainer in 2008. Then along came Ms.Hormonal Imbalance aka Peri-Menopause Biotch. So she brought some good times and weight gain, all in areas I'd never had it before. Finally got some pills to balance me out again in 12/09 (took a woman doc to figure it out DUH) so this has been my first year really feeling "normal" again. 2009 was sadly a year I'm just writing off. So....I'm all about training HARD but for the next 90 days (or whatever it takes more or less) I'm really focused on losing fat. I just started running and I have to say I LOVE IT> I'm not just running to lose weight, I actually like it. So.....I'm ready to CRUSH IT.

Breakfast=brekkie

The list goes on!

November 9, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterRaechelle

Arvo = afternoon!.... Aussie slang lol ;-)

November 9, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterChelle

Ok you Aussie chicks. How do you get ARVO from Afternoon?? Help a girl out!! hahahaha

November 9, 2010 | Registered CommenterKelly Olexa

Oh i think us Aussie girls just decided it would be cool to make up our own languange lol.... afternoon has WAY too many syllables - we also call it 'arve' too!

November 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterChelle

and just to confuse you more Kelly, arvo pronounced "ahvo" (you don't hear the R) and what Chelle just put up about Arve...that's pronounced Ahv-(as in aaahhv)!
TLMAO!
