Take it UP a notch. Updated.

If you choose something- anything- each week, that you want to work on, to improve upon, etc.- at the end of 2010 you will have added or improved upon close to 50 habits. Think about that.

I want to know- what is that you want to really CONQUER this year? Don't limit this to 1-2 things. I'd love to hear your top 5. And- this doesn't all have to be in the health/fitness area.

For me, here are some of the things I want to accomplish:

  • Doing all of my workouts first thing in the morning. My "work life" is too busy now, and I'm too often required to attend events and dinners in the evening. If I don't get the workouts IN before my day starts, it is too easy for me to guilt myself into continuing on my business at hand, then I neglect my training. There is PLENTY of time for both. I can workout from 6-8am, start the day by 9am and have 10-12 hours available for work.
  • Drinking more water. I've been so bad about this.
  • Variety in my diet- balancing out protein/carbs in a reasonable manner. I need to try new things. And lately I have not been getting enough protein. Now that I'm back at training hard again, I know I should have a bit more.
  • Stretching.
  • Yoga every week. I love it too much.
  • Core/Abs work every week
  • Tracking my diet.
  • Tracking my workouts.
  • BEING NICE AND ENCOURAGING TO MYSELF. No one does well with constant negative reinforcement, yet I am positive with everyone but me. I am SO hard on myself and - whether we realize it or not, when we do that, we are almost de-motivating ourselves. I HAVE TO WORK ON THIS. Attitude is everything, and that includes our attitude toward ourselves.

Today's workout: P90X Shoulders & Arms. Killer. Did not do cardio after because it was late evening and I could tell the tummy wasn't empty enough. I cramp up so easy, for cardio, I have to have an empty stomach.

What are some things YOU are working on or WANT to work on?

Hi Kelly! Thanks so much for responding to my comment last week. I have my calendar out and am enjoying writing down my workouts. I do feel quite the sense of accomplishment. So, here are my goals for the year:
-focus on running (20 miles per week)
-strength training 2-3x a week...ARMS! (you've inspired me!)
-yoga 2x a week
-dance class 1x a week
-learn to relax!! ... but keep myself accountable*
*this one has to do with food, exercise, and life in general.

I think the last one will be the hardest for me. It is so easy to go to one extreme or another!

1. BInge eating. This is an issue i have dealt with for the last 10 year and its really only been in the past few months i am beginning to feel in control. Each day is a work in progress, but by year end i WILL conquer this beast!
2. ABS =)
3. Professional photo shoot. I am on a mission to achieve my ultimate body. Once i get there and maintain it for a period of time, this will be a present to myself.
4. Buy a unit! Its time to move outta the nest egg and buy a place that i can call MY home.
5. Finding Peace.

Rob- tell me about TRX!! I've heard so much buzz about it!
Elese- your last one, I'm working on that too, we are so alike!
Chelle- Working on my eating- or eating when I am bored- is a huge thing for me too, because it's become very clear that every calorie COUNTS especially as we get older.....

Kelly TRX is suspension training and it is awesome! It weigs 3 pounds and you can take it with you anywhere! You can literally train every muscle using it and its especially good for training the core!

FIRST, walk the path of being a better Christian, and focus on others, not myself ALL the time. We did not wake up in Haiti this morning. God Bless all of them!

1. Become a RUNNER. Think like a RUNNER. Eat like a RUNNER. I run, but not fast, but I do love it and want to increase my mileage.
2. Yoga- Kelly or someone- do you have a good free download from yoga?
3. Work out in the morning (like you, Kelly) I used to do this ALL the time. Why is it so hard to get back into that routine?
4. More fruits and vegs
5. Eliminate as much as possible spending time with all the co-workers that are negative ALL the time. Why should I let them steal ONE moment of joy from my day.

Tammy- awesome comments. I too agree with you that I want to work on being a better Christian every day. Period. I wish I could run, no can do. I cramp up so easy. Have tried everything. - Yoga downloads; check out www.eatliverun.com - Jenna does a ton of yoga and talks a lot about downloads. And yes- cut out the negative people- it sooo makes sense!
